Match the agent to the work, not the team
Browse the marketplace by the task you want automated, not the department doing it. An invoice-matching agent serves finance, but the same agent works for an operations team paying vendor bills.
Evaluation criteria
- Input format. Does the agent accept the document or data shape you actually have? Check the agent's listed integrations.
- Escalation behavior. Read what the agent does when uncertain — some draft-and-hold, others route to a queue.
- Volume fit. Estimate monthly operations and compare against your plan quota before committing.
Run a bake-off
Deploying two candidate agents against the same sample workload for a week is cheap (operations are the cost, agents themselves are not metered). Compare autonomous completion rates, then keep the winner and remove the other.
